If you are not sure about whether you are saved or not, then you are not right with God as His Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are His children. Truly, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks - if you are saved, the world will know.
Many think that all is well with their soul. However, unless one is born again you cannot be saved and enter into the glorious relationship with Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. Hell is real. All those outside Christ will be banished there and will be cast into the lake of fire after the Judgement.
The new birth is a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ and will always result in a total change in one's nature, values, vision and destiny in life. Idols are left at the cross. Everything will change. It is not paying lip-service to a sinners prayer. It is a response to the Spirit of God and is the most important covenant and oath that you will ever make.Your very nature will change. It is the beginning of a new and glorious journey.
Everyone is following their own way, their own ambitions and their own plans in life. When you surrender to Him, you surrender your plans, your ambitions to His feet. This is the cross. He will gradually unveil to you His plan, purposes and enable you to pursue them by His anointing.
The following sinners prayer is given to help you. Remember, this is an eternal moment between yourself and God and will be the last day of your old life and the first day of your new life.
Lord Jesus,
I come before you today as a sinner,
I have followed my own way,
Forgive me, cleanse me of my sins,
I repent this day,
I lay my life at Your cross,
I acknowledge that You died for my sins,
Was buried and rose again on the third day.
I confess You today as my Lord and Saviour
I come to you Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
and ask You to guide me and show me Your Way.
Amen.
