She did not know that an IDOL remained in her heart

Foundation text: Book of Ruth

There was a famine in the land. Naomi dwelt in Moab for a season to cushion the impact of the famine. Later, the Lord visited Israel by giving them bread. The famine was past. Instead a visitation of God. Both of Naomi's daughter-in-laws, Ruth and Orpah said that they would accompany Naomi back to Israel. However, Orpah turned back.

Similarly, today a spiritual famine abounds throughout the earth. The church is lukewarm. The Laodicean is the end-time Christian. However, the call has gone forth to leave Laodicea and its worldly practices and to move to a another nation - a nation of visitation. Are you going to respond to the Holy Spirit's call as Ruth did or as Orpah? Orpah did not know her own heart. She initially was willing but Moab had a strong hold on her life ('Turn back, my daughters, go your way...'). The idol's hold determined her destiny. She disappeared from the pages of Scripture.

Naomi offered them nothing except hardship, and poverty. No promises of prosperity and a life of ease. Similarly, Apostle Paul, who is the example and pattern for all believers, lost his material inheritance from his family, lived a simple lifestyle, often went hungry, suffered rejection, was cast out, stoned and left for dead. This was his lot to the end. His reward was Jesus Himself and His Presence. Material prosperity was not a blessing that he was accustomed to. He learnt to be satisfied with little or much ('I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.').

Consider Ruth. This may be your lot if you break forth from Laodicea and go all the way with God. Only the very poor gleaned the fields. This also was the cross that Apostle Paul endured until his death:

1 Corinthians 4: 9-13

For I think that God has displayed us,
the apostles, last, as men condemned to
death; for we have been made a spectacle to
the world, both to angels and to men.
We are fools for Christ's sake, but you
are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are
strong! You are distinguished, but we are
dishonored!
Even to the present hour we both hunger
and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and
beaten, and homeless.
And we labor, working with our own
hands. Being reviled, we bless, being perse-
cuted, we endure it;
being defamed, we entreat. We have
been made as the filth of the world, the
offscouring of all things until now.

Ruth clung to Naomi and her God. In the early church, multitudes followed Jesus, yet only a few would hold fast to Him and be true to Him. No one can serve two masters. A divided heart. Let us leave Laodicea behind. Let us not look back. Remember the Laodicean is torn between two loves - the Lord and the world. One foot in the kingdom of God and another in the world.

Compromise and UNBELIEF go together. Once the heart is overcome by an idol or a lust, unbelief takes hold.

The Cost of leaving Laodicea behind

Only when you are drawn to Him alone, cleansed from Laodicea, and become separate from the world will you find that those things that Jesus said are true: Rejection. You will lose your friends quickly. Many of your so-called Christian friends will no longer walk with you. Cast out. Laodicean churches will no longer receive you. You will be regarded as the enemy. Why? They have a mixture. The world remains in them and even in their worship! Persecution.

Remember that the Laodicean has never experienced persecution. They are not a threat to Satan because they have one foot in the world. Only those who go all the way with God and become separate from the world will suffer persecution.

Double Portion - Coming Revival: Keeping our eye on the Master and not on the Storm

Foundation text: 2 Kings 2

Similar to the words of Naomi, Elijah told Elisha, 'Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.' However, Elisha clung to his master.

And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha," Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?" And Elisha said, "Please let a DOUBLE PORTION of your spirit be upon me."

So he said, "You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."

Seeing the Two Monsters in the midst of the Storm

Job: a type of the end-time Christian

Job only knew health and prosperity. He had heard much about God from his counselors. He had a form of godliness but no life and power. Many today talk the talk and make much noise but do not have a deep close walk with Jesus Christ and know not His Presence.

Matthew 15: 8-9

These people draw near to Me with
their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the
commandments of men.

This spiritual condition is what God had to bring to the surface. His faith was built on ease, health and prosperity. It was an outward faith but not a faith which was of the heart and of a close abiding intimacy with Jesus Christ. This faith will not withstand the current global storm.

In the midst of the whirlwind (storm), God showed Job two monsters - Leviathan and Behemoth. Some scholars believe these to have been the hippo and the crocodile. God was showing Job that man could not overcome these two monsters. No matter how they prayed, confessed or spoke to their mountains, they remained steadfast. Only God can defeat and remove the monsters.

Suddenly Job's eyes were opened. He saw the truth - that God is sovereign and in control. He realized that he must accept the current circumstances as from the hand of God. He became still. God would deliver him in His own time. Job learnt to embrace the cross.

Job's Counselors

They insisted that Job had hidden sin in his life. Similarly today, the Prosperity Movement teaches that poverty indicates a lack of faith or hidden sin. They dogmatically hold on to this teaching and become Job's critics in the hour of the storm. Severe trials and testing will increase * as we approach the end of the age. Instead, we need to teach the church how to draw near to Jesus and to drink deeply of His living water; to let the life of God strengthen us in these last days so that we can echo the words of Apostle Paul, 'I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.'

This is why some have said that worship will be the central theme of the final move of God. In other words, we drink of this life of God through worship, strengthening us to endure the latter-day trials. The Word of God simply points us in this direction.

*The Scriptures do clearly indicate that we will escape the worst of the trials that occur during the Tribulation, occurring after the Rapture.

Malachi's Picture of the Coming Revival: He suddenly comes to His temple - as a Refiner's fire

Many focus on tithing when considering Malachi. However, this is not the central prophetic emphasis of Malachi.

The emphasis is the sudden coming of Jesus as the Refiner and as a swift Judge. The areas central to judgment are (1) a lack of reverence (2) impure* worship - mixture of 'in the flesh' and 'in the Spirit' (3) worldliness. This is a necessary prerequisite for the coming worldwide revival. Consider the article Praise and Worship for greater clarity concerning this.

* "Opening the windows of heaven" and "pouring out for you such blessing that there will not be enough room to receive it" is related to the offering. In the context of chapter 1, to rob God was to bring something other than "a pure offering". In the New Testament, this is primarily a type of the worship we offer and is much broader than tithing alone! It primarily means that we are not to do anything in the flesh as the flesh profits nothing. Unfortunately, the church as a whole has majored on the minors and minored on the majors.

A glimpse into the Coming Revival: Malachi 4: 2-3

But to you who fear my name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings,
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles
of your feet
On the day that I do this,"
Says the Lord of hosts.

In Malachi 4:1 "the day is coming, burning like an oven", we see the conditions that precede the coming outpouring of His Spirit. We are in an oven. The heat is turned up. Is this not what is happening today, especially in the US as economic conditions worsen?

Healing will be central in the coming outpouring. The miraculous will be the hallmark of the coming Tsunami. It will come from those who have grown fat like stall-fed calves in the wilderness [Malachi 4: 1-3].

Meeting Jesus in the midst of the Storm

Foundational text: Matt 14: 22-36

The economic storm has worsened. In the forth watch (3am until sunrise), Jesus went to them walking on the sea. Expect the Final Move of the Holy Spirit to break out shortly. Some will think it is of Satan (a ghost) when the miraculous breaks out. Others are willing to step out of the boat and to walk with Jesus on the water.

I believe that those who have been in the wilderness will spearhead the coming move of God. Remember that Jesus set us the example by going up on the mountain to pray and He was alone there. Selah. Pause. Think about this.

When Jesus got into the boat the wind ceased. Is Jesus really in our boat? Are we headed for Tarshish? Has fear gripped our hearts as we hear the continual reports of the ever-worsening storm. Let us repent for rejecting the prophetic word from trusted servants such as David Wilkerson and Leonard Ravenhill. Their word concerning these events is truly being fulfilled before our eyes.

Consider the context. Jesus fed the 5000 before this scene takes place. His financial provision is there if we walk with Him. Fear will go. Calmness will come in the midst of the storm - when Jesus is in our boat and we are walking in His plan and His purpose.

I personally have seen His miraculous provision in the midst of the storm. Truly, His people need not fear if they dwell in the secret place of the Most High. However, His people will suffer if they have not heeded the warnings of His servants to prepare in the years of plenty which preceded the years of famine.

Many know the Scriptures but do not know Jesus intimately. Actually He is not in their boat. We experientially know Jesus by abiding in Him and His love. We sense when He is grieved. We begin to know Him through His Presence. We grow to know His character - what He approves and displeases Him. This is not the same as simply reading the Scriptures. More is needed. He desires a close walk with His children and that we know Him deeply. Being a student of His Word is not sufficient. We need to know Him personally through His Presence and to walk with Him and in His love continually.

Healing is also prominent in this passage (verse 35-36). Healing will be central in the coming move of the Holy Spirit. Kathryn Kuhlman believed that a day is coming when all the saints would be healed.

Will America cross over and become powerful once again?

No. America will become weaker and weaker. Europe will become stronger and stronger. The Antichrist comes forth out of Europe and that is nearer than many realize.

Judgment has settled on America. The curses of Deuteronomy 28 are at work. Although Jesus has a remnant in America, the nation as a whole has "the writing on the wall." Judgment has already been pronounced and has been unfolding over the past few years.

The Birth of a New World Order

Obama's change in foreign policy from the Christian position of strong support for Israel to negotiation (after negotiations had failed and sanctions imposed) and a softer approach with Israel's enemies together with the global financial crises could well be the beginnings of the new world order which will ultimately be ruled by the Antichrist.

Morally there is a shift away from godly policies. Abortion and gay marriages are promoted by the new administration. There is also a shift from free market policies to a more state-controlled and socialist nation.

I see this prophetic word (below) being true for the coming worldwide revival in the kingdom of God but not true of a national recovery of a nation, although in the past, sometimes, the two have been together.

Kim Clement - We have Entered into the Era of the Seventh Sight, the Seventh Watch

Judgment still rests on America. Consider Robert Holmes's prophecy above [3]. Consider Habakkuk. I see the reason for the judgment is given in the passage below:

Habakkuk 2:4:

Then the Lord answered me and said:

Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it,
For the vision is yet for an appointed
time;
But at the end, it will speak, and it will
not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

I believe that the nations will judge America as the nations judged Israel in Habakkuk's day. They will come in as described in Robert Holme's vision above. But I also see the vision as a double reference to the coming worldwide outpouring of the Holy Spirit - the latter rain. Although many have waited a long time for the coming worldwide revival, it will come. Though it tarries wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

The verse

Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

is very significant.

Proud (aphal) speaks of presumption. The faith that has been coming forth from America through the Prosperity Word-Faith Movement is a presumptuous faith and not a waiting faith. It is one in which the flesh predominates. Do the Scriptures not say that judgment comes to the proud? The faith coming forth is different to that of Hudson Taylor and the spiritual giants of the past. I believe that this is the central reason for the judgment that is resting on America. Let us not continue down this road of presumptuous faith but look to Him for the vision of the coming revival because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

China's Revival

Consider the faith of those who lay the foundations of this revival in China - Hudson Taylor, Watchman Nee.

"Many other groups and movements have been influenced by the writings of Jeanne Guyon, but one of the greatest influences this book (Experiencing the depths of Jesus Christ) has ever had was during the 1920's in China. At that time this book reached a young man destined by God to be one of the best known of His servants in this century. The book fell into the hands of Watchman Nee....it constituted one of the major influences in his life; and as a result, the book became an indirect influence on the lives of many of his co-workers. Hudson Taylor also highly recommended it to the believers of his day."

Understanding the Wilderness

Many have been called by God into the wilderness over the past decades. The purpose of this has been to restore the true faith - the same as possessed by Hudson Taylor, Watchman Nee and Jeanne Guyon - to His people. This is a necessary prerequisite for the coming worldwide revival.

We are living in the day when God is about to release His Glory.

THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH: - The hinge on which the doors of Scripture are opened - the mightiest sentence in the Book of God. It is as if God plucks this jewel out of the Old Testament and holds it up in the New Testament, slowly turning it facet by facet so that we can take in even more of its truth and beauty. ROMANS emphasizes JUST. GALATIANS emphasizes LIVE and HEBREWS emphasizes FAITH.

A diabetic read these words one day "I am the Lord who heals you" (Exodus 15:26). She took it as a direct word from the Lord and in faith gave up her insulin injections. Within 3 days she died. She had acted in PRESUMPTION and not in FAITH.

PRESUMPTION acts on Word only. Leads to some of the greatest tragedies. Presumption has a great reputation for tragic endings. FAITH acts on RHEMA.

Jonah - Understanding the timing of the Coming Tsunami in the midst of the Storm

Truly, the American church and by extension the church worldwide (as being influenced by the US) can be likened to Jonah going down into the ship headed for Tarshish. Jonah went down into the lowest parts of the ship and fell fast asleep.

The church has slipped into a deep sleep, embracing the easy message of ease, success and prosperity (Prosperity gospel) and other forms of Charismania that deny the way of the cross such as the Lakeland revival.

However, God has in His mercy sent a storm - a severe global economic storm - to wake us up and to bring revival to Nineveh. Surely we are in the midst of the economic storm now and should expect the ship (our comfortable success and prosperity gospel) to shatter soon. Some have already been thrown overboard and are seeking Him for restoration in the depths of the sea.

I believe and sense the Holy Spirit indicating that we are closer to the coming Tsunami of the the Holy Spirit than ever before. It is imminent. Let us cast aside all weights and things that will hinder us from fulfilling His call as we await His summons to Nineveh.

As we come out of the place of prayer, covered in seaweed and barnacles (Presence and anointing of the Spirit) and bleached from the large fish, the world will recognize the anointing and repent as the Jonahs arise and go to Nineveh.

However, the revival in Nineveh is short and Nineveh eventually returns to its ways and is judged by God years later. Similarly the world will descend into tribulation after this coming Tsunami and darkness will once again descend upon the earth. However, the Lord is coming to take us [the revived church] to Himself very soon and we will escape the coming darkness that is to descend upon this earth.

This vision was received while he was preaching in Britain, on furlough from China.

'In Russia I saw there will come a general all-encompassing national spiritual awakening spread to many European countries. Then I saw an all-out awakening, followed by the coming of Christ.'

'During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain.

The President of ORU, Richard Roberts, has resigned. God has responded with His blessing by removing ORU's debt.

Centuries ago, an outcry arose by many people concerning the abuse of the church. When Johann Tetzel was selling indulgences in Germany, he came into Wittenberg. Money for church buildings. Martin Luther was enraged and put up his "95 theses" or statements on indulgences and he pinned them up on the church door at Wittenberg, bringing in the Reformation.

Today, the outcry is getting louder and louder.

In the 1980's, Jim Bakker - a prosperity televangelist having air conditioning in his doghouse - was sent to prison. In prison, he saw the error of the prosperity gospel, repented and refutes this doctrine to this day. His ex-wife, Tammy Faye Bakker Messner, who divorced Bakker when he was in prison, has died recently, indicating an end of an era.

Billy Graham was different. He lives a simple life free from sexual and financial scandals. How different he is to the high-living preachers and sex scandals [Catholic Church in Crises, Pro-gay agenda splitting Anglican Church, Desmond Tutu's response, Earl Paulk, Divorces of Juanita Bynum and Paula White] that are surfacing today.
Graham's son Franklin explained that some of his father's popularity was his decision to set up a standard of accountability. "Evangelists were known by leaving the unpaid bills behind. An evangelist would take up a love offering and then leave town." The elder Graham put a limit on his salary and dedicated the rest of the monies to ministry. "Daddy gave a really good name back to evangelicalism."

Ruth Graham, who died recently: when singer June Carter Cash gave her a mink coat, she refused it—saying that an evangelist’s wife could not live lavishly. Graham’s down-to-earth moderation seems refreshing at a time when some evangelists are defending extravagance [Extract from Lee Grady].

Another generation of prosperity televangelists has arisen. They are at the center of the controversy. However, the Prosperity Movement has grown over the past decades and has tentacles throughout the earth. Today's televangelists under scutiny are symbolic of the whole Prosperity Movement. All roads lead to Kenneth Copeland in this movement. He is a father figure who has taken up the reigns from Kenneth Hagin who passed away a few years ago.

A senate enquiry - based on complaints from church goers, media and whistle blowers - has sent shock waves throughout the US.

Lavish lifestyles using the donations and offerings of the saints. Generous salaries and housing allowances. Amenities such as private jets (often more than one and some even with their own airport) and Rolls-Royces. Lavish billionaire lifestyles using the donations and offerings of the saints. Cosmetic surgery, extravagant Hollywood lifestyles, vacations to exotic islands, many multi-million mansions, a $23,000 marble-topped commode, a $30,000 conference table, a $11,219 French clock...

The Prosperity Movement or Word-Faith Movement or Positive Confession Movement or name-it-and-claim-it gospel is at the centre of the scandal. The "Prosperity Movement" is the focus, primarily, because of their fundraising pitches. Governing boards that are not independent. Leadership is often concentrated in one person or family. Dictatorship.

Oral Roberts University [ORU] - the Prosperity Movement's current university - is being shaken with allegations of misuse of university funds - lavish living, exotic vacations, etc. - by the head of ORU. One accusation is that the family used a university jet to send one of their daughters and her friends on a trip to the Bahamas. More ...

The same outrage is spreading throughout the world.

A short while ago, the Daily Dispatch in East London, South Africa, published a series of articles about a local prosperity ministry in East London, linked to TBN South Africa. Empires, lavish lifestyles, a very thin line between business and ministry dealings. One common thread - a strong "Prosperity" emphasis to the gospel. The local East London ministry has strong ties to the Copelands.

Lee Grady of Charisma, the well-known Charismatic magazine, has raised these issues of excesses and fund raising methods by Christian television over the past months and sees God's hand in this long overdue (long-suffering) cleaning of His house. TBN, on the other hand, in an open letter to the Charisma Magazine, sees this as an attack from Satan and that this attack will affect the entire church in the years ahead. TBN sees it as another Spanish Inquisition. Copeland's daughter sees the investigation as similar to the persecution of the Jews by the Nazis.
[There may be some truth to this. Near view. Far view. Dave Wilkerson in The Vision (1974) spoke of taxation and persecution coming to churches, context of a global recession. Persecution does lie ahead and this may eventually lead to it.]

Even secular magazines, are focusing on the Prosperity Movement and questioning their emphasis.Time Magazine has had numerous tv evangelists on its front cover over the past months.

The Financial Mail [a leading financial magazine], South Africa, December 2007 issue, has this on its front cover - the business of religion.

"[The prosperity gospel] is the most sweeping movement within the continent of Africa," says Dolan. "The African people at large in the church have bought into it hook, line, and sinker. It offers tremendous promise to an economically deprived people."

Will the strain of the ORU scandal lead to the death of Oral Roberts - one of the two said to die as a sign of the coming worldwide move of God?

The world is crying out for the true gospel. They will not follow the Prosperity Gospel. They see through it. The Prosperity Gospel must decrease. There is a middle road between the extremes of the Prosperity Gospel and the Poverty Gospel! Blessed are the poor in spirit... (trusting in Jesus and not in themselves). The spiritual walk needs to be emphasized. Reform is the order of the hour. Let us not only deal with the fruit, but cut to the root. Doctrine needs to be dealt with. Reform.

My main concern with the Prosperity Gospel is not wealth and excesses - this is all that the world sees - but the damage that such a gospel (in its strong adherence to principles and spiritual laws, undermining the Lord's sovereignty and its unbalanced understanding of 'faith') does to our personal relationship and fellowship with Jesus. The key to a whole, healthy personal relationship with Jesus is overlooked and is not emphasized in this movement. Often the teaching of this movement contradicts that which is needed for a healthy anointed personal relationship with Jesus.

I strongly recommend that those coming out of this movement read Jeanne Guyon's classic, "Experiencing the depths of Jesus Christ," as the basic truths concerning our personal relationship with Jesus are clearly shown. Watchman Nee too. These truths are not taught in the movement. Let us move from the gospel of prosperity (gospel of poverty, social gospel) to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Outwardly the reformation deals with abuses and excesses. Inwardly the reformation is concerned with restoring our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This reformation has been taking place over the past 20 years. It is a like an iceberg. Many only see the tip of the iceberg. Truly, it is much more widespread and deeper than the current senate enquiry. It affects all nations, not only the US.

The Lord showed me a house in the Spirit. It was burning. He gently reminded me that this fire was from Him. It has been sent to purge His house before He visits His people.

Hence, the series "Pure Gold" which deals with the Sacred Cows that need to be driven out of the Temple.

Indeed we are come to the completion and perfection of death. The preparation of His chosen vessels is complete. Death to self and to the flesh. The end of an era. Death is also coming to the Prosperity Movement through judgment. Purification. God is behind it! And the reformation is much bigger than Grassley or the media.

We are on the eve of the Coming Tsunami of God - the coming worldwide revival. It is truly at the doors! Resurrection life. New beginnings.

PRAYER: We lift up Benny Hinn to God in prayer in this season as we recognize the Presence of God resting on him in an unusual way. We pray that his ministry, although having associations with the Word-faith Prosperity gospel and excesses [he stands against the 'name-it-claim-it' gospel and renounced Word-Faith theology on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson and on James Robinson's show a few years ago], will not be cut off and that he will become stronger in God and more effective in the years ahead. [Many who criticize his ministry do not know the Presence of God themselves which reveals their own spiritual condition.]

The Great Shaking

A great shaking will take place.
Afterwards there will be a shaking in the kingdom of God;
Then the end will come.

Words spoken by the Holy Spirit years ago.

I clearly remember the time when I uttered these words and knew at the time that they were significant. It was one of those moments when the Presence of God manifested unusually and such an eternal moment is never forgotten. The fullness of the shaking is upon us now! The great shaking precedes the coming tsunami of God - sovereignty brought about by His hand in the core - the depths of Jesus Christ - in His remnant waiting in the wilderness.

HAGGAI  2:   v6-9: 

"For thus says the Lord of Hosts:
Once more (it is a little while) I will SHAKE heaven and earth the sea and dry land;
and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations,
and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the Lord of hosts.
'The silver is Mine, and the GOLD is Mine,' says the Lord of hosts.
The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,'
says the Lord of hosts.
'And in this place I will give PEACE,' says the Lord of hosts.'

First, the WORLD is shaken. This occurs in the (1) natural. There is a significant exponential increase in the birth pangs which Jesus spoke of which will precede His coming for His people, with a special emphasis in the natural.

In the heavens - strong winds, hurricanes (2005 record year in US - 26 storms surpassing the record of 21 set in 1933, including Hurricane Katrina - the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history).
On the earth - fires (California Fires), heat wave (SE Europe 26/07/2007), floods (2007 - the year of floods: South Asia - India, Bangladesh and Nepal - the current floods across South Asia are being considered as the worst floods in living memory, Southern Pakistan, Jakarta floods - Indonesia, Intense rain in Central and Southern South America has caused flooding to occur in Argentina, Bolivia (February), US (Texas), UK & Wales (July 2007), Australia - Gippsland, China (June, July), Korea (August), Africa - massive flooding in a third of Africa : August, September 2007, the worst in decades, Mexico - "not just the worst natural catastrophe in the state's history but, I would venture to say, one of the worst in the country's recent history"), South Africa.
Under the earth - earthquakes, tsunamis (Thailand, India, Indonesia 26/12/2004 Measured in lives lost, this is one of the ten worst earthquakes in recorded history, as well as the single worst tsunami in history).

(2) The nations will be shaken. Wars and rumors of wars will increase. Terrorism (11/9/2001). Watch Iran.

ISAIAH 59:19, 60:1-3

So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the
sun;
[worldwide demonstration of the God's glory
- causing awe and wonder among the nations]

When the enemy comes in like a FLOOD,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a
STANDARD against him.

Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen
upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the
earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will rise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your
rising.

Note: Both (1) and (2) have occurred simultaneously in Africa recently (August-September). The countries torn apart by civil war and rumors of war have been worst affected by severe flooding, the worst flooding in decades. Much of Africa's harvest has been destroyed by the floods. Some predict that 2008 is be a year of disaster without compare as famine, war and death grips most of Africa.

Many intercessors have sensed that the coming worldwide outpouring of the Holy Spirit (tidal wave) to be concentrated in the regions where the floods have come i.e. first-world nations. The natural precedes the spiritual. What of Africa? The floods in Africa have been far far more severe than that of Europe and the US. Does the recent catastrophic floods indicate Africa's central role in the coming worldwide move of God?

Afterwards there will be a shaking in the KINGDOM OF GOD - the coming tsunami of God.

Sovereignty and grace is stamped on this final work of the Lord and is confirmed by the 5 "I will" 's in the closing verses of Haggai.

Then the end will come.

The Purpose of the Shaking

SEPTEMBER 24, 2007: I am raising up my chosen vessels sovereignty in this hour of shaking, says the Lord. They have the true foundation deeply established in their natures. A deep personal fellowship with Jesus Christ and the deep work of the cross are central to this foundation.

At the same time, the world is being shaken, its strength weakened. Fear and uncertainly grips the hearts of the people of this world. Their knees knock together in fear. The Lord's intention is that every knee shall bow and that they surrender their lives to His Salvation and Lordship. Every knee shall bow - whether in this day of grace or at the Great White Throne judgment. However, the Lord is gracious and kind and does not desire that any should perish.

The 5 'I wills" emphasize God's sovereign hand in this season:

HAGGAI 2: 21-23:

I will shake heaven and earth.
I will otherthrow the throne of
kingdoms;
I will destroy the strength of the
gentile kingdoms.
I will overthrow the chariots
And those who ride in them;
The horses and their riders shall come
down,
Everyone by the sword of his brother.

'In that day', says the Lord of hosts, 'I
will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the
son of Shealtiel,' says the Lord, 'and I will
make you as a signet ring, for I have chosen
you,' says the Lord of hosts.

My blessing will increase and rest on these vessels of Mine. Many of My people are under My curse HAGGAI 1:6. Many take My plans and My purpose from others, but do not have the true foundation established in their hearts. From this day, I am raising My vessels and My blessing will rest on them alone.

I will make them as a signet ring. Apostolic authority will rest on these vessels and will increase significantly in the days ahead. Their message is 'The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine.' As My people are taken from glory to glory in the coming sovereign move of My Spirit, a sifting and refining will take place. The brass will go. Only the gold - the pure gold - will remain in My temple. Those who heed and welcome My vessels will have My blessing rest on them. Those who choose to go their own way and reject My vessels and their message will remain under My curse.

The curse on today's Laodicean church is given in HAGGAI 1:6:

Now therefore, thus says the Lord of
hosts: "Consider your ways!

You have sown much, and bring in
little;
You eat, but do not have enough;
You drink, but you are not filled with
drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is
warm;
And he who earns wages,
Earns wages to put into a bag with
holes."

The way out - HAGGAI 1:7-8:

Thus says the Lord of hosts: "Consider your ways!
Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified," says the Lord.

Spend time alone with Jesus Christ. Prayer. Go up to the mountains. Bring wood - solid wood not melamine - which comes from spending time in His Presence. However, there also needs a shift in the foundations. More that simply spending more time in prayer. The foundations need to be changed!

The Prophet, Evangelist and Apostle

In the Book of Haggai, we see the prophet, evangelist and apostle.

The prophet Haggai 1: 2-6

Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, saying:
'This people says, 'The time has not come,
the time that the Lord's house should be built.''

Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in
your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in
ruins?'

Now therefore, thus says the Lord of
hosts: "Consider your ways!

You have sown much, and bring in
little;
You eat, but do not have enough;
You drink, but you are not filled with
drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is
warm;
And he who earns wages,
Earns wages to put into a bag with
holes."

The prophet speaks of the restoration of the prophetic movement that has arisen during the past few years. Unfortunately, there has been a mixture in the prophetic movement.

The prophet is concerned with God's times and seasons. Many call themselves prophets. However, the true prophets will always rebuke that which is of the flesh and own effort. The true prophet will NOT proclaim that all roads are acceptable in this hour. On the contrary, he will proclaim that the way is narrow and the foundations different from the mainstream; charismatics included. The true prophet points the way and directs, 'Go up into the mountains and bring wood and build the temple...' He also goes a little further, 'Stay and linger in the mountains that you bring solid wood...'

The evangelist Haggai 2:7 1:6

I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations (Jesus)...

You have sown much, and bring in
little...

The end-time move of God brings in the final harvest of the church age. Evangelists will have a key role in this hour. However, those raised up by the Lord over the past decades will bring in much. Those who have not been obedient to the Laodicean call of the Spirit will have sown much, and bring in little.

Notice that in Haggai 2, verse 6 (evangelist) and verse 8 (apostle) are found in the context of the coming glory. Verse 7 and verse 9 speak of the coming glory. Often the apostle will do the work of an evangelist and also bring the prophetic word.

Desire of All Nations

In both Jewish and Christian tradition, the phrase “the desire of all nations” (Hag. 2:7) has been generally interpreted as a messianic title of Christ.

The apostle Haggai 2:8

'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,'
says the Lord of hosts.

The final restoration at the end of the age is the restoration of the apostolic movement. Many today claim to be apostles. However, I speak of those whom the Lord has raised up and their central purpose is to take the church from where they are today into the coming glory of God.

True apostles will clearly distinguish between the gold - fine pure gold - and the brass. They will be instrumental in leading the way in the coming move of God.

'Be strong', Do not fear! (Verse 4-5)

Some called may 'fear' as the time draws near as they are weak in themselves - poor in spirit. However, as the enemy comes in like a flood in the great shaking, the Spirit of the Lord will cause those called and prepared to BECOME STRONG through His Presence in the coming season. They will rise up as evangelists and apostles in the coming hour.

The Prophet Zechariah, who ministered with Haggai, also emphasized the importance of trusting the Holy Spirit for the enablement needed to do God’s will: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zech. 4:6). A.W. Tozer once said, “If God were to take the Holy Spirit out of this world, much of what we’re doing in our churches would go right on, and nobody would know the difference.” What an indictment!

The work (Verse 4)

The work is to 'Go up to the mountains and bring wood...' The mountains speaks of the exalted place in Him - the secret place - and the wood is the revelation coming from His Presence. This revelation births the coming apostolic movement. Dead works, works of the flesh and church works done in our own strength does not find a place here. They are left at the foot of the cross.

“To work is to pray,” said St. Augustine.

The Mixture, Repentance and Separation

In the Book of Haggai, there is a passage which stands out.

Haggai 2:11-14

Thus says the Lord of Hosts: 'Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying,
If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?' Then the priests answered and said, 'No.' [HOLINESS IS NOT INFECTIOUS]

And Haggai said, if one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?'So the priests answered and said, 'It shall be unclean.' [UNHOLINESS IS INFECTIOUS]

Then Haggai answered and said, 'So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,' says the Lord, 'and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.'

The remnant had come from Babylon to build the Temple. Not all the Israelites came from Babylon. Many stayed in Babylon. Only a remnant returned. A narrow and hard road to take. It was much easier to enjoy the comforts of Babylon. Similarly, many today are in Laodicea. A remnant - few in number - have heeded the Master's call - the Laodicean call - in this late hour.

Even amongst those of the remnant there is a MIXTURE. Some have kept the old foundations where there is much of self (Haggai 1:6) and the world; and have simply embraced the vision of the coming move of God. The blessing of God will NOT rest on the mixture. Every work of their hands is unclean and what they offer is unclean.

Repentance is needed. Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand! Different foundations! Uproot the foundations! A separation is needed.

Ezra 4: 1-3

Now when the adversaries of Judah and
Benjamin heard that the descendants of
the captivity were building the temple of the
Lord God of Israel,
they came to Zerubbabel and the heads
of the fathers' houses, and said to them, ''Let
us build with you, for we seek your God as
you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since
the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who
brought us here.''
But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest
of the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel
said to them, ''You may do nothing with us to
build a house for our God; but we alone will
build to the Lord God of Israel, as King
Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.''

Only, once the new foundations are established, will His blessing be present!

Note: This is why the blessing of God has been lacking often. Even the prophetic movement is a mixture. [See The Coming Tsunami]

You have sown much, and bring in little...

Sowing seed. The law of seedtime and harvest. Many Scriptures speak of sowing the Word. However, let us sow in the Spirit. Sowing in the flesh has little fruit. Much effort. Little fruit. Frustration. Disappointment. Speaking the Word. Being positive. The power of confession. Being the prophet of your own life and destiny. Sound familiar?

This is not Biblical. It may appear to be biblically correct, but is not. This teaching destroys your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I strongly admonish to break ties with extreme Word-Faith ministries such as the Copelands as they mislead many. This teaching is widespread in the Charismatic movement and is contrary to the coming move of God. Those who hold this teaching will be bypassed in the coming move of God. Take heed!

I admonish with tears as I once, many years ago, was a close follower of this teaching and would still be following this teaching if it were not for the Lord's grace and mercy towards me. Many are walking in the light that they have. Let us be careful how we deal with our brothers and sisters!

Locally, in South Africa, and even in East London, there are prominent ministries who have put forward "The Year of the Open Door" as the prophetic word for 2007. This comes from the prophecy given by Kenneth Copeland for 2007. Read more ... Even though there is nothing "wrong" with this word biblically, it comes from Kenneth Copeland (leader of the Word-Faith Movement - Creflo Dollar, Jerry Savelle, Fred Price and others), a ministry and movement which is very unbalanced and teaching which is contrary to the coming move of God. One should be distancing oneself from such ministries and not embracing their prophetic word and teaching!

Notice the emphasis on man's role in us being co-laborers with God. Self is emphasized. How different is this from the message of the cross in the coming worldwide move of God!

Look at the following verses, first, spiritually. Eating, drinking and being clothed is a type of us feeding on Him, drinking of His Presence and being clothed in His Presence. Notice the dissatisfaction, unfulfillment and void.

Is "Obey God's Word" preaching helpful?

Many ministries are Bible-thumping hear, believe and obey ministries. However, they don't lead you into a deep personal walk with Jesus Christ which is essential to truly obeying and fulfilling the Word of God.

The gospel is not simply one of hearing, believing and obeying precepts. Rather it is one of coming to know Jesus Christ and to grow closer to Him, knowing His Presence, His Voice, His Nature and His Heartbeat. A gospel such as this is misleading. It is more Old Covenant than that of the New Covenant.

Again, let us be careful in dealing with this as they are often walking in the light that they have.

Contamination

Jesus my Source

Today's church has the Word of God as its source. Tomorrow's church has Jesus Christ - a deep personal fellowship - as its source. This shift needs to take place. Few understand it. Most are Word people and rely on the Word of God and not primarily resting in Jesus Christ and abiding in Him - especially those in the Word-Faith Movement. Many no longer truly understand or know the continual experience of abiding in Him!

Remember we worship the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and not the Father, the Son and the Holy Scriptures!

JOHN 6:39-42

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. I do not receive honour from men. But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.

Consider

Haggai 2:11-14

Similarity between Johnathon Edward's preparation and God's preparation for the Coming Tsunami of God

Those prepared by the Lord for the coming worldwide move of God have gone through exactly the same transformation through His sweetness as did Jonathon Edwards.

Revival is essentially a spirit of prayer that rests on a person at all times. The Holy Spirit reveals the Father Heart of God - especially His great burden for lost souls. The spirit of prayer, or soul travail, begins to rest on a person with such magnitude and frequency that he can easily say, "I pray in the Spirit at all times."

In such a state, God will sanctify the person entirely - body, soul and spirit - so that he comprehends and experiences the holiness of God. The fullness of Christ then begins to overflow the person; God, who is infinite, goes on to sanctify everything around Him, using the individual saint as a channel of His love.

Indeed, the word of the Lord is "Cross the River Jordon NOW." This is true worldwide. All true apostolic correction and instruction to churches should line up with this prophetic word. The apostolic movement which is to arise and manifest in its fullness in this season has this message central in its mandate from Jesus.

A third experience

Born again (Passover) ... Baptism in water (Crossing the Red Sea) ... Baptism in the Holy Spirit (cloud by day, pillar of fire by night)... Dying to self or taking up your cross (Jordan crossing).

Some saints, such as Kathryn Kuhlman, entered the third experience when they were baptized in the Holy Spirit, but most, like the Israelites, experience this distinctly at the Jordan, a place of death. Jeanne Guyon's book 'Experiencing the depths of Jesus Christ' [a well-known Christian classic] deals with this third experience extensively.

Kathryn Kuhlman: 'dying a thousand deaths'

Taking up her cross ... dying to herself ... allowing God to become totally alive through her ... it was the baptism of the Holy Spirit and it changed the direction of her ministry ... Kathryn started preaching under the new power that she had received ... soon people who were attending her Bible studies reported healings that occurred during the services... that ministry grew worldwide and included regular services in Los Angelos which began in 1965.

In the year that King Uzziah died...

Isaiah 6 : 1-4

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw
the Lord sitting on a throne, high and
lifted up,
and the train of His robe filled the
temple.
Above it stood seraphim; each one had
six wings:with two he covered his face, with
two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

And one cried to another and said:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!"

And the posts of the door were shaken
by the voice of him who cried out, and the
house was filled with smoke.

The prophetic word, "In 2007, I will call many Elijahs out of their cave [Thomas]" is correct. The timing of this is given in Isaiah 6. Certain people will die soon. When this occurs, the prophets of the wilderness will begin to surface.

When this happens, Jesus Christ will be lifted up and exalted ("I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up"). The message of these prophets is Christ-centred in truth. Heaven will truly come to earth. The glory of God will settle on the earth and the whole earth will be full of His glory. A shaking takes place and the Shekinah glory of God - His manifest Presence - increases significantly ("the house was filled with smoke").

The Coming Tsunami

The charismatic era has ended*. The end-time revival has begun (Read more...). We have seen two somewhat murky waves - the Toronto and Prophetic movements - the birth of Isaac. The Tsunami is ahead. Has the time come for the Tsunami of God?

John Wimber's separation from the Toronto movement marked the end of that wave. Has the fall of Paul Cain and the separation of Andrew Strom from the Prophetic movement marked the end of wave of the Prophetic movement?

Is this not an indication that the next wave is at the doors - the great tsunami?

I am in agreement with Andrew Strom and others concerning the Gideon company. The way has become narrower. Many who have key roles in the first movements and remained camped in them will not be leaders of the coming tsunami. This is necessary as it is the fullness of the progressive fulfillment of, 'Cast out this bondwoman and her son...'. Ishmael - the leaven of the Laodicean - must go!

I see a purer, sounder and deeper move coming from the wilderness (Read more...)... unlike the mixture that has surfaced until now... a tsunami whose waters will also reach the Historic churches and the Catholics.(Read more...)...

The 'glory of God' is descending. Until now, the glory of God has been hovering above the earth. The 'glory of God' will rest on the earth in the coming Tsunami.

*The moving of the cloud of God's glory is largely due to the Prosperity Word-faith movement's cancerous stranglehold on the Charismatic movement. The Charismatic movement has come under the judgment of God. Ichabod - the glory has departed.

NOTE: Just as the religious people took one aspect of our Lord's coming - as a conquering King - and rejected His role as the suffering Servant, so too, many today accept the 'end-time revival' but reject the 'end-time deception' that has brought the church into Living Laodicea. Some vice versa - mostly heresy hunters err this way. Both are true. The true prophetic word will include both aspects of the truth. The coming Tsunami not only brings life to the church but judgment and destruction to many.

The Healing of the Waters

The first miracle - the healing of the waters - opens the door to the coming tidal wave of the miraculous.

Elisha took up Elijah's mantle with the double portion of the Spirit. He moved back across the Jordan and into Jericho. Here the miracle took place.

The coming tidal wave of the Holy Spirit brings forth the miraculous. The miraculous has broken out in some places to an extent. However, this is not the final wave. It is still future, but very close.

This mantle falling on those waiting in the wilderness occurs only after some die. The death of certain people in His sovereign time precedes the coming tidal wave. This truth has been a constant theme of the Holy Spirit over the past decades. Pastor Ed Roebert of Hatfield, South Africa spoke of this. Benny Hinn and Kim Clement have spoken of this truth too. Some will come out of the wilderness with Elijah's double portion after the death of certain people. When they come forth, moving in the miraculous, the first miracle will be central to worldwide explosion of the coming tidal wave.

Today the waters are bad. The ground is barren. Death is present. The waters are the waters of Jericho, which speaks of warfare and characterizes the modern Charismatic movement. Although the Charismatic movement is central, the whole church is the ground of the last move of God. This is the same truth that Paul Cain brought forth - that today's church is barren and dead like Sarah's womb. Many don't like to hear this, but it is the truth.

Unless the waters are first healed, you will not flow nor have any part with the last move of the Holy Spirit. The waters are the waters of the present church. Today's church cannot bear His glory. There needs to come a change. The coming move of the Holy Spirit will come on the wings of repentance. Only to the extent that the church repents will their waters be healed.

Elisha said, "Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it." This speaks of the the NEW work which the Lord has been doing in the wilderness over the past decades. Those coming out from the wilderness are salty - very salty.

And he (Elisha) went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, "Thus says the Lord:'I have healed this water, from it there shall be no more death or barrenness.'"

The source of the problem in today's church is being dealt with! Let us pray for revelation concerning this.

Those coming from the wilderness will come with tremendous authority. Apostolic authority. As Elisha pronounced a curse on those who mocked him as he went up to Bethel, so will the coming apostles from the wilderness walk.

Elisha had to keep close to Elijah to receive the mantle and not to be found camping in Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho or in Jordan. However, once the mantle fell on him, he returned and ministered to those in Jordan, Jericho, Bethel and Gilgal. Similarly, those in the wilderness have not camped in any of today's movements including the Toronto and Prophetic movements. They will minister to these movements later so that the waters can be healed - yet only on the wings of repentance.

The army from the wilderness

Joel 2: 3, 11a

A fire devours before them,
And behind them a flame burns;
The land is like the Garden of Eden
before them,
And behind them a desolate wilderness;
Surely nothing shall escape them...
The Lord gives voice before His army,
For His camp is very great.

A people come forth from the wilderness with fire. They have become a Garden of Eden in the wilderness - the miracle of the wilderness. They bring forth the Garden of Eden as they go forth. What they have experienced in the wilderness is manifested as they come forth out of the wilderness. Those who do not flow with this army will remain a desolate wilderness. Barrenness and death will remain in their lives and ministries.

When do they come forth? When the day of the Lord is at hand. When darkness abounds. The deeper the darkness, the more these people shine with the brightness of His glory.

The call to those who have not been through the true wilderness of God is given in Joel 1:5

Awake, you drunkards, and weep;
And wail, all you drinkers of wine,
Because of the new wine,
For it has been cut off from your
mouth.

Joel prophetically speaks of Laodicea. A people who have been devoured by satan. No new wine. Branches white. Ruined fig trees. Stripped bare and discarded. A desolate and bleak state. This is the prophetic picture of today's church - a backslidden church bereft of the glory of God.

Yet, from this devoured people, an army arises - an army separated by God in the wilderness for the past few decades.

Vision of the Two Fields

The Lord showed me two fields in the Spirit. They were both white. The first was the field in John 4:35

Do not say, 'There are still four
months and then comes the harvest'? Behold,
I say to you, lift up your eyes and look
at the fields, for they are already white for
harvest!

The second field was that of Joel 1: 6-7:

For a nation has come up against My
land,
Strong and without number;
His teeth are the teeth of a lion,
And he has the fangs of a fierce lion.
He has laid waste My vine,
And ruined My fig tree;
He has stripped it bare and thrown it
away;
Its branches are made white.

Who will the Lord send to harvest the first field as His people are like the second field?

The cry that goes forth is given in verse 5:

Awake, you drunkards, and weep;
And wail, all you drinkers of wine,
Because of the new wine,
For it has been cut off from your
mouth.

That is why the Third Wave has come to the Body of Christ - to bring the new wine and to turn water into wine - the beginning of the miraculous that ushers in the end-time harvest.

Look at Joel 2:12- 13a

"Now, therefore," says the Lord,
Turn to Me with all of your HEART,
With fasting, with weeping, and with
mourning."
So rend your HEART, and not your
garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful.

The fresh move of the Holy Spirit concerns the HEART and our fellowship to Jesus Christ. Jesus is central in the Third Wave and the HEART relationship to Him is crucial. Religion and the flesh must go.

Prayerfully consider the message of Joel.

Defiling the temple of God

1 CORINTHIANS 2-3

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

On the surface, we may regard this as advice to look after our physical bodies by exercising and not smoking, etc. Although there is some truth in this, this is not what Apostle Paul was bringing to light in these chapters.

The context is ministry.

Ministries can defile the temple of God when they are off-balance and soulish.

Very few ministries are sound today. The spiritual condition is much worse than many realize because of our blindness and lack of discernment.

Some preach all the right things; yet in a predominantly intellectual manner with little power. This soulish ministry results in defiled fruit. Some appear regularly on Christian television. They are born-again, baptized in the Holy Spirit - preachers - yet their ministry is predominantly soulish and comes from the natural man.

The Tabernacle of David

These chapters - AMOS 8, 9 - give the prophetic picture of the transition from the charismatic era to the last move of the Holy Spirit which had its beginnings in the early 1990's.

In chapters 8 - 9:10, we see death, judgment and an emphasis on praise and worship. In the last portion of chapter 9, the raising of the tabernacle of David is revealed and a day when the plowman will overtake the reaper.

Moving the Mountain

There are two pictures of moving mountains in the Scriptures. Often the picture in Zechariah 4 is overlooked. To be true to Scripture, we need to look at both accounts before forming any doctrinal emphasis. If we do not do this, our perception of the truth will be distorted and we transgress and lead others into error.

Let us first consider Zechariah 4: 6-7

This is the word of the Lord to
Zerubbabel:
'Not by might not by power, but by My
Spirit,'
Says the Lord of hosts.
'Who are you, O GREAT MOUNTAIN?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a
plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"

Also verse 2-3, 14:

And he said to me, "What do you see?"
So I said, "I am looking, and there is a
lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of
it, and on the seven lampstands with seven
pipes to the seven lamps.
Two OLIVE TREES are by it, one at the
right of the bowl and the other at its left."

So he said, "These are the two anointed
ones, who stand beside the Lord of the
whole earth."

Here the emphasis is on "Not by might not by power, but by My Spirit." It is not a soulish command to the mountain. Sometimes we have - and especially those in the faith branch - have taken the words of our precious Lord wrongly. We ignore the rest of the Bible and instead of throwing our view back into the Scriptures and letting the Word give true balance, we prematurely form doctrine.

We need to be careful speaking to our mountain! Unless it is done in the Spirit and initiated by the Holy Spirit, we err. Some even teach others to err in this.

Mark 11: 22-23

So Jesus answered and said to them,
"Have faith in God.
"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever
says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be
cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his
heart, but believes that those things that he says
will come to pass, he will have whatever he
says.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things
you ask when you pray, believe that you
receive them, and you will have them.

Those in the Third Wave understand this and tend to lean on the Zechariah emphasis as this approach is more Christ-centred. When we lean on the Holy Spirit and the anointing of God in all things, we rely more on Jesus and His life. This is the correction needed in the charismatic church today. Let us not fall into the trap by becoming soulish Christians!

I bring fire

As the fire comes, the mixture of gold and brass will heat up and melt. As the heat increases, the dross – the brass - will rise to the surface. The responsibility of these prophets of the wilderness is to bring the fire. It is the responsibility of the people of God to remove the brass as it comes to the surface and becomes clearly visible. The brass will be seen to be different from the gold. As the brass is removed, the gold will become purer and the Refiner will look down from heaven and seeing His own face in the pure gold, will bless the people of God in all His fullness ushering in the COMING MOVE OF GOD.

The missing link

The preaching has changed. Lip-service is paid to our personal relationship to the Lord. The emphasis has changed. However, revival is coming. This new anointing comes on the wings of our restored deep inward personal relationship .... and this restoration - from the shallows to the depths - will affect every aspect of our lives - both private and public. No longer will we be able to clap, whistle, etc. in praise and worship. A new reverence and spirit of worship will envelop us.
